#1 I saw a car today with two bumper stickers:
My son is serving in the Navy
My daughter is serving in the US Army
To this parent, thank you. Thank you to your children also for their service will not go un-noticed by me or many others I know. I only wish I had the chance to shake your hand and to tell you thank you face to face. Perhaps one day I can do just that. In the mean time this silly little blog will have to do. Maybe someone reading this will know you and can pass along the message to you and your children. I have come to realize that a simple thank you changes lives. I stopped a stranger on the street with a VFW vest on, a Patriot Guard Rider I found out, and told him thank you. Thank you for serving and continuing to serve. I walked around the rest of the day with a HUGE smile on my face, and so did that gentleman I am sure.
#2 I just read a blog. http://www.wellingtoncarriage.blogspot.com/ If you have the time, I suggest you read it too, but read the oldest entry first and then work your way to the newest. (have the kleenex handy) The mission of this woman and her horses is a mission set forth by God. It simply has to be. For Lorraine to do what she does could only be something instilled in someone by God. to Lorraine and her horses, Thank you. Thank you for escorting our American heroes home. Seeing that they are properly escorted to their final resting place. The theme of the blog is "Be an American Worth Dying For" I encourage you to ask yourself today, are you an American worth dying for? What have you done that thousands of men and women should die protecting you? As the blog says it can be as simple as helping an elderly person cross the street or with their groceries. From little things like that to large things like what Lorraine and her horses do, be an American worth dying for. Step out of your comfort zone so that our heroes aren't dying for no reason. Make their sacrifice worth it.
So 2 things to remember: Say thank you often and be an American worth dying for.
Thanks Tiffany. One person and one kind deed at a time and soon we will all be Americans Worth Dying For. Then we can pray for the day that lives won't have to be lost protecting our freedoms.
